The sunniest of the Greek Islands, Rhodes is home to miles of beautiful beaches and remarkable ancient ruins. The capital, Rhodes Town, is a collection of old buildings and whitewashed houses, with many lovely restaurants and bars. As you move down to the south of the island, the resorts become smaller and are great for quiet holiday getaways. Lindos is one of the islands more beautiful towns, overlooked by the incredible Acropolis and Doric Temple. To experience authentic Greece, head inland to the hills and olive groves. You’ll be able to take part in watersports from most of the resorts lining the coast, and there are some great boat trips that will take you to some of the island’s more secluded coves. If you want to do some of your own sightseeing, then hire a bike and cycle along the coastline.
